More VBS Fun!

We just can't get enough of VBS this summer! And, for a good reason!
With Farmers Branch and Prestoncrest churches combined, these amazing children have given $5300 for the children living in Chase's Place!! That is just unbelievable to me!

If you're here from The Branch VBS, we are SO very thankful for your sweet support and encouragement! I know some of you may be here on our blog for the first time, and are looking for more about the children in Ghana. If you'd like to see all the pictures from our recent trip, go HERE to our His Chase Facebook page.

And, if you'd like to read my {somewhat lengthy} posts about our trip, click on the following links:

I also want to share a wonderful video that shows even more clearly what Touch A Life is doing to rescue these trafficked children from slavery. They have given these children new hope and new life.

And, we can't wait to have them live in Chase's Place!!

This week, we got to spend time with over 200 kids from Farmers Branch Church, at VBS. The big theme was Superheroes, where the kids learned what it is to be a superhero for Jesus.
How cute are these three "Supergirls"?
In our missions room, we taught the children all about Ghana, Africa and about the children who we visited there. {And, even got to wear our African dresses, bought my Mama Amy on our trip. :) }
We talked about slavery and what life was like for these kids--fishing on the lake--before they were rescued. They learned all about the culture in Africa. They got to try the food (rice and dried bananas),
learned three new songs,
and experienced Ghana in a variety of ways.
I loved our little Ghana room, and especially appreciate my dad's help in turning our walls into a Ghanaian streetside market!
We have had SUCH a great week! We ended today with the kids brainstorming ideas of how to be SUPERHEROES for these kids across the world. I was so impressed with the hearts of these kids, and the ideas they came up with. We heard everything from hosting garage sales and lemonade stands to raise money, to giving their own toys, books, and clothes to the children. Some even said they will give up their birthday gifts to get money for kids in Ghana! And, most importantly, they all promised to pray for the children they have "met" this week. Now, those are REAL superhero actions for sure!

I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has joined us in these efforts of giving these children not just a house, but a home. Chase's Place will be an amazing place, thanks to all of you. We are once again so grateful to God for the way He multiplies the gifts of so many, and provides so abundantly for these kids. And, once again, children amaze me. They give so freely and with so much excitement! This picture is my niece, Sophie, who was SO excited to bring her entire piggy bank from all four of her years of life. She had the biggest smile as she handed us her HUGE bag of coins.
And, there were stories like this every day! Just like at Prestoncrest a few weeks ago, the kids are just so willing to share what they have. We heard of children giving their tooth fairy money from teeth lost this week, children asking aunts, uncles, and grandparents for money to bring, and many, many children talking about and praying for their Ghana friends around the dinner table, as they emptied their banks for the following day.

FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS from the loose change of five hundred children! That is absolutely amazing. And, we can't wait for you all to see the end result! Bunk beds, dining room tables, chairs, library bookshelves, an art center....it's all coming SOON!!! And, it will all be personalized with all of YOUR names, sweet children! Thank you for blessing these kids this way! Their smiles say it all.
They have new life and you are helping that happen.
