Late last week, we decided to visit Gammy and Papa Ron at the ranch for the weekend, to see the remodeling they have done, and to spend some time in a relaxed place far from the busy metroplex. :) The trip was very well timed and perfectly relaxing.
Here are some highlights:
*Bedtime stories with Gammy...without mommy there to say "enough"!
*Playtime with our most favorite 17 year old aunt and sister!
(We even got to help Cailee babysit a "newborn doll" from home ec class! Poor Mark got stuck with that job. :) *Spending time with my grandmother and grandfather. One year ago we almost lost Maw Maw to a heart attack and surgery complications. Here she is doing "Here is the church, here is the steeple" with Carlie...precious to me.
*And, here is Carlie when she finally made her "people" appear! *Finding eggs fresh from the hen house. (while dressed as Mary Ingalls, of course!)*Driving the tractor...(yes, even Mommy did it!)
*Or the gator...
*Finding a baby calf hours after she was born and petting her soft hair...
*Witnessing a house undergo huge changes and turn out with a "comfortable country" air...
*Getting to shop for a few hours at the outlets with Cortni and Cailee...and best of all, baby Avery!
*While I was shopping, Mark was gettin' handy! He helped Ron fix fences and "work the cows"! My city husband?! And, he even had fun doing it!
*Practicing for our Spring Break family camping trip...and setting up the tent for a few hours as a "run through" (because only Santa had set it up before!) The girls were awesome helpers, and it made us giddy excited about our trip next week!
*And, we had SUCCESS! Let's hope for the same thing next week!
Thank you for a great weekend of relaxation and fun with you--Gammy, Papa Ron, Cailee, Maw Maw and Paw Paw!! It was a great getaway for us!
