I have two songs in my head today....
1. "All Night Long" (all niiiight, all niiiight, all night long....)
2. "Workin' Nine to Five" (only replace "workin'" with "sleepin'")
And, the reason for the songs in my head is because I'm sleepin' again!!! WOO HOOOOOO!!!
I waited to blog about it until it actually happened two nights in a row (I'm still afraid of jinxing it!). But, as of today, I have had 17 hours of sleep in the last 48. That is an AWESOME ratio in my mind. Sweet Abby Kate has gone from 9:00 pm to 5:30 am with no wake-ups...except for the occasional need for a passy plug. It's pure heaven to sleep that long.
I am a happy mommy. Which translates into much happier children. (I really do think I've been "on the grumpy side" a little too much...so I'm sure more sleep will magically make me a patient mommy, right?! Ha! If it was only that easy.)
I do think Abby Kate did this for me because of our nightly talks. Before I put her to bed, I tell her how great it will be for her to sleep all night. Especially as I started back to preschool last week. I will be a much better teacher having slept now!
On another note:
We've actually made it to church and school on time twice in a row. This is a big accomplishment, seeing that I don't get many places on time anymore. Here is a picture before church last week:
Does that baby have a Carlie face or what?!
And, yes, Erica, Nicole, Traci, and Sara----these are the dresses I bought with you while pregnant before I even knew I was for sure having a girl. They were too cute to pass up. I lucked out and got to use the baby sized one after all. :) Too bad this might be one of two matching outfits they will have all season. It's too hard to buy for three!!
And, last but not least: Let me pass on my HAPPY BIRTHDAY wishes to my very young mom today!! Happy Birthday Mom/Gammy. You are so loved in this house. We can't wait to give you hugs very soon!! Have a great day celebrating!
(The second picture is a year old, but it's the most recent of Mom and her daughters! Sisters, we have to be better about that!)
And, a happy "seven weeks" to little AK today too! We've loved these last two weeks when you've shared your sweet smile with us on purpose instead of just for gas relief! Your little laugh makes me want to eat you up. And, now, you're even letting me sleep more. What a good baby you are!

That is AWESOME that she is already sleeping virtually through the night! I always say the third one is the best because they just plain have to be...Their matching dresses are adorable. It is so hard to by for three girls. It could really break a daddy's pocket book FAST! Take care...
I am so happy for you. I remember the first time Emma slept through the night...Terry and I woke up the next morning and I asked him if he got up, he asked me if I got up and we both blissfully realized that we had a whole night's sleep. It felt so good! I am still happy when I get a full night's sleep...it seems that there is always something or some new tooth waking me up!
I love the blue dresses. I was totally on board with you buying the 3 dress, and as I remember you did that at more than one store! :-)
You might remember me from Preston Crest and ACU. I will admit that I am a blog "stalker." I love reading your blog and seeing your precious girls! This post has driven me to comment! How did you get her to sleep all night? What is the secret??? I have a 2 1/2 month old and he still feeds at 11 and 4:30...
Woo Hoo Abby Kate! Good job on sleeping through the night. I know your mom appreciates it! May you (and your mommy) have many more restful nights!
Way to go AK!! You are so sweet to your mommy!!
Oh...and what a gross picture (of me.) We really do need to update that!
Love you, Jacobs family!!!
Yea for Abby Kate! Sleep is truly a blessing that I definitely took for granted in my old life!
Yeah for sleeping through the night!!!
As I approach mommmyhood with two little ones, I keep hoping you will create a post about how you are managing to keep three little girls organized (b/c I have a feeling you love structure and organization as much as I do!). Now that you are so well rested, hopefully you might find the time to share your tips with the rest of us!
I'm so glad you are all doing so well! You're girls look so sweet in their matching outfits! We do not have matching outfits! :( With MaKieley in a 6 and Marley in a 0-3 or sometimes a 3-6 month there are not many matching dresses or anything else for that matter. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places. I need to get to Dallas soon and do some shopping!
Congratulations on your great nights of sleep! They are awesome and priceless!
Please email me where to send Abby Kate's present. I have had it sitting here and I keep meaning to ask ... and I just have not! I have an address but am not sure if it is correct. sarah.bigelow@yahoo.com
Have a great week! :)
Awesome. That's the best day ever. Congrats, and your girls are so beautiful!
I'm getting sleepy just thinking about those nights. I'll never forget the day Nora slept through the night. I still didn't sleep very well because I was wondering how things were going in that crib of hers? Doesn't it make you wonder why we were so crazy in college and would actually stay awake on purpose?
Anyway, by your third I'm sure you've got all the anxieties of parenthood nailed and sleep soundly.
Love seeing the pics. So precious!
Yeah!!!! AK...you are great! I hope the sleep makes for a whole new perspective. I am dreading entering this phase again. I am trying to convince Baby Riley in the womb that sleeping all night is great and she should do it right upon emerging into the world. Think it will work?
