My Treasures

As I begin a crazy, busy month full of what seems like WAY too much to do....multiple birthday parties for my two birthday girls, 6000 minutes of reading rally, Pioneer Day planning, Valentine "fun" out the wazoo, along with all the other "normal stuff" that fills a mommy day....it's so easy to lose sight of how important my little ones are. And, how unimportant all the other stuff is.

I absolutely love that I get to stay home with my kids, and I know it is a huge blessing to be able to. Sometimes the "blessing" part of my mommy job goes without notice, and I'm so sad to even type that...but it's true.

However, there are those moments in the middle of my {sometimes crazy} day, where I just look at my girls, and am just awe struck by the fact that they are mine. And, I'm reminded that they are growing by leaps and bounds in front of my eyes.

So, today as I was reading one of my favorite blogs (by someone I don't even know), her words hit me hard:

I was reminded yesterday what a
privilege it is to see their sweet faces
everyday as i do my "job."

The faces that teach me to
love better.
The only five treasures that I
can take with me forever.

These little girls who God has given me (and the little boy already there) are the ONLY treasures I will have for eternity. Why would I want to waste a minute on the "stuff" of life, when I could be doing things like this instead? Thank you, God, for that reminder today...

Posted by one of my greatest treasures, you know! Somewhere, Chelsea, (possibly only in my memory now)there is a very similar picture of you at that age teaching or reading to all your little "friends". I think it was in our apartment at SFA. You are correct... they are eternal treasures, as are you and your sisters to me! Love you!
