This weekend was a BIG event for Miss Kendyll. It was her second debut in the Nutcracker with the Dallas Ballet Company, and she {of course} did a fabulous job as a beautiful angel!
She was excited about the angel role because of the beautiful costume, the curly hair extensions, and the fact that she danced WITH Clara for part of her scene. :) Here she is "brushing shoulders" with the star of the show (who also happens to be a teacher for Kendyll's class...so of course, she is well loved by our angel!)
Even the little girls got to get close to Clara, and pose for a picture with her during intermission. Carlie was so cute and actually had a whole conversation with her! (I know this doesn't sound that amazing, but for Carlie it is!) Carlie said "Um, do you have Kendyll Jacobs in your class?" To which, Clara (aka Rebecca) said "Yes, I do!" Then, Carlie said "Well, I'm Carlie Jacobs." And, of course, Clara made her feel very special and told her "You're Kendyll's sister! I can't wait to see you in the Nutcracker next year!" Seriously...that was HUGE for our little Carlie to strike up her own conversation like that! So cute...
Although the time we spend at the studio increases in November & December, and even though the week of the show is quite busy, it is so worth it to watch Kendyll audition for a part, practice hard at it, and be a part of such a huge production. Dancing is her one "thing" that she enjoys, and we are so proud of our beautiful ballerina.
As usual, she had her big fan club there supporting her. And, yes, we do have pictures of everyone to share. :)
Gammy and Papa Ron
Grandma and Pops
Grandad and Grankay
Mom, Dad, and sisters
Cousin Sophie
Cousin Carrie (all the way from Abilene!)
And, a big group of aunts!
I love this picture of her TRUE fans, lovingly attacking her with hugs and flowers. They were so proud of their sister & cousin.
We were also excited to have Trinity, Ashlyn, Amy, and Stephanie join us for the first time this year. The girls loved the show and were so sweet to shower Kendyll with hugs, flowers, and a sweet "good luck" card.
Now, we'll enjoy having our Friday nights free again! I'm sure the extra time will now be spent watching the Nutcracker video, as all three of our ballerinas practice their favorite parts.
The other VERY exciting part of the Nutcracker being finished is the fulfillment of two years of work by Kendyll. She's been growing her hair for Locks of Love for what feels like a decade. And, it has been 10 inches {long enough to cut} for the last few months. BUT...we had to wait until Nutcracker was over to chop it off.
So....after ballet practice today, she got her wish. :)
Here is Kendyll before...
Here she is "halfway done"...
And, here is the cute new do!!
She is giddy happy, and can't wait to surprise all of her friends at school tomorrow. I have to say Mommy is pretty pleased as well. No more tangles!! YES!
I'm very proud of Kendyll for being so patient in growing her hair to help another child. She was so excited to fill out the paperwork and send her hair off to someone who needs it. And, tonight, she decided that she's starting all over again...so, here we go with the 10 inch goal again!
Kendyll, we are so incredibly proud of our biggest girl. You were a beautiful angel in the Nutcracker this weekend, and you never cease to amaze us with your beautiful heart and joyful spirit. We love you!!

Yea, Kendyll! You look so precious with your new hair cut, and I'm very proud of you for working so hard (and for SO long) in order to share something so precious with another child. Praying that God will bless your gift...and your giving heart!!
Chelsea, thanks for sharing her with us! She's an angel, indeed!

Kendyll is SUCH a talented dancer, actress, preformer...pretty much give her a stage and she's golden:) It was so much fun seeing her in the Nutcracker again this year...and to see how much she's grown since last year!
I also LOVE her new do. SO cute! I can't wait to see it in person:)
And finally, I am SO proud of Carlie for striking up a conversation! She's "growing", too:)
Is it sad that I am kind of jealous of Kendyll's cute new haircut?!?!
Sounds like The Nutcracker was enjoyed by all!
Cute new doo, Miss Kendyll! Abbey cut her hair for Locks of Love this last week, too! How fun and such a sweet thing to do...
What a sweet girl that Kendyll is! It is obvious to me where she gets her giving spirit. :) I loved seeing pictures of her at her ballet recital.
Such a beautiful angel indeed!
What a sweet way for Carlie to initiate conversation. Love it!
Love Kendyll's hair! AK is letting hers grow for a second round and I think I am the one who has the most trouble being patient. The sassy cut is so easy...maybe we'll have our 10 inches by the summer.
Chelsea ~ Your children are precious, and I love these sweet pictures. It looks like you have such amazing people surrounding you.
Thinking of you so much as you celebrate Christmas but are also greatly hurting.
Hi Chelsea, I don't know if you would remember me. I am Brittani's cousin Jamie. We met several times as young girls. I have been following your blog since I saw Brittani's balloon launch on her blog. I wanted to tell you that I have been so touched by your blog and stories and pictures of your sweet Chase. I have prayed for you and your family often. It is a blessing for me to see your strength and faith in the Lord. I am very sorry that you have had to go through such great loss. I will continue to pray for your family and look forward to following your blog.
