Happy Birthday, Popsy!

Today is Popsy's 59th Birthday, and we have had many FUN celebrations with him this year. The tradition continues of drawing a "Happy B-Day Pops" card and taking a picture of the girls holding it...these are hilarious to look back at over the years. Because there is never a year where they are just sitting there smiling. They always look a little bit crazy...which is how Pops likes it anyway. :)We all took Pops to the family-favorite restaurant, Babe's, on Sunday night, for his party. We got to see lots of hokey-pokey dancing and even some dancing from Pops! Let me say that after knowing John for 12 years now, I didn't ever think I'd see him doing the chicken dance in the middle of a crowded restaurant! I guess that's what happens when grandkids come along. :)
And, speaking of grandkids, I was laughing as I looked through pictures of his celebrations. The pictures sum up how crazy the get-togethers can be with five kids under seven years old. But, it is definitely some crazy FUN, though!
Since we had already celebrated on Sunday night, we were trying to think of a way to still show Pops how much we loved him on his actual big day (today)...so the girls and I thought of a plan! We decided to "kidnap" him in the middle of the afternoon and take him for a birthday treat to Baskin Robbins! The girls were SO excited about this plan and talked about it for hours. It was a big success and he was definitely surprised...so watch out, other family members! This is definitely a new idea that will be shared with others! :)
And, then, after all that celebrating, we decided to stick around for a classic Pops dinner at their house...Cheri's tacos and chocolate fudge sheet cake. YUM, YUM!
So, here's a very happy birthday wish to Pops. Thanks for a great couple of days with you! Have fun in Hawaii and HURRY BACK!! We all love you!
