A Special Visit

The summer fun stories continue!! During all of the other fun of VBS, we got special visits from both Grandmother (from Abilene) and Uncle Chris (from Boston)!! We spent many afternoons and evenings playing with them, having dinner, and just hanging out, before they had to go back home.

It was fun to watch the girls get SO excited about hanging out with Uncle Chris. He took the older two on a special movie outing to see "Wall-E", and they have been talking about it ever since. Apparently, they got any treat they wanted while they were there...and that's exactly how it should be! :)

We also had some good old-fashioned SlipNSlide fun in the backyard. Mark got excited because he thought that Chris and himself would be able to "show the girls how it's done". But, it ended up being quite a small slide...perfect for these little ones to try...but not so perfect for Daddy. He still shared his "techniques" with them as much as he could, though.

Abby Kate wasn't sure what she thought about the sliding part. But, she was SURE that she didn't like being run into by her older sister. Look at that pouty face! (and sorry for the nudity...she wasn't prepared with a swimsuit that night.)

The fun ended with blades of grass stuck from head to toe...and a cousin bath to clean it off.

Next summer, Cheri has promised to buy the 3-lane giant slip-n-slide for the grandkids...and for her own sons. :)
