I know that it's very likely that our weather will return to 85 degrees next week, but for now I'd like to pretend that fall is here to stay! (I started this blog with a fall picture in honor of the cooler weather....it is actually the "decoration job" that Kendyll did last week on our dining room hutch. As I said before, it explodes with pumpkins...and she is SO proud of it!)

In other news, we had to miss homecoming this weekend at ACU because of sick kiddos, who are slowly returning to health, thanks to some antibiotics, allergy medicine, and nasal spray. You should have heard some of the coughs coming out of our children! So, we were sad to miss the fun, and especially the visiting time with friends and family, but we did enjoy our calm weekend at home after a rather crazy week last week! But, happy 10 year reunion to many of our friends. We can't wait to see your pictures!!

And, now here are a couple of events that we needed to "catch up" on:
1) Kendyll's kindergarten field trip to the farm. A very fun place, with very cute classmates, who I got to actually spend time with, since I was a driver for the trip. There's something very funny about a car full of girls who get tickled at singing "God Bless America" opera style---every time we passed an American flag. Yes, that happened more than once. :) But, they were adorable despite the loudness.
Mondays are always one of my favorite days....both big girls are in school and I spend the day playing with my sweet Abby Kate, along with doing "mom and wife" type chores around the house while she takes her two long naps. :) It feels calm and relaxed, quiet and productive. And, I kind of use it to gear up for the rest of the week.
But, today, it is an extra-special good day, as I'm sure my fellow Texas friends would agree. Fall is in the air!! And, it makes me absolutely giddy. Nothing is better than highs in the 50's! I've had the windows cracked, the fire going, and my spice candles lit all day, while I stare outside at the rainy, cloudy, cooler day.
I went through my cookbook to find fall foods for the week, and we've made plans to visit our pumpkin patch (finally) later this week too...All the things I've been desperately holding out for cooler weather for. And, it's finally here! It is so snuggly and I love it!

Today, I've been spending lots of time holding a baby girl in long sleeves and socks, which is so sweet. Especially when she's heading to surgery in the morning. :) Yes, Abby Kate follows suit with the rest of the girls of this family (mom included) and will be getting ear tubes tomorrow morning at 7 am. We are praying that all goes well and that her ears become normal for once in her life! That means more good cuddle time tomorrow for us!

2) Kendyll and Daddy's first "Y Guides" daddy/daughter trip. They had so much fun at the Arboretum---crafts galore, face tattoos, a picnic, and playtime with all the other daddies and daughters from school. Kendyll was a happy camper. And, speaking of camping, their next outing is a camping trip in November. I don't even know if my husband has EVER been camping, but I guess they'll learn together!
I love this picture of Kendyll. It shows her concentration and those adorable freckles that I love.
3) An awesome Friday date with Hollyn and family! We planned long ago to see the Lion King with our sweet friends, and it did not disappoint! The frustrating part was arriving late and missing the famous opening scene, due to traffic and State Fair parking (which stinks, by the way!). The girls also got to go out for a "fancy dinner" with the parents. They were SO good and had a good time being together again. And, the four parents could have talked all night! It was a wonderful outing for our big girls.
I am realizing from this post that all the news and pictures have been about Kendyll. Carlie has had a great few weeks too....so I guess she'll be the subject of the next post. Now, you know there's some entertaining stories coming soon with that girl!
Happy Fall everyone!! Stay warm and snuggly in those sweaters before we have to bust out the shorts again! :)

I missed seeing you at ACU, too. For sure next year :) I missed out on Lion King this time around, but so glad your girls got those memories. I'm loving the weather today, too!
I love seeing my niece in other people's blogs!! Such fun! I'm glad you all had a great time!!
I am right there with you about the weather. Even though it was gray and gloomy today, I still loved it because it wasn't 90 degrees!
Hope all the kiddos are feeling better. Kendyll did a GREAT job at the fall decorations :)
Love the decor! Sorry about sick kiddos and having to miss homecoming.
How fun that those cute girls went to the Lion King. I love how dressed up they are. So fun!
