Don't ask me why I'm blogging when it's midnight and I will be awake in five hours (plus the surgery I had this morning). But, I'm just too giddy to sleep yet. There are two babies (besides my own!) who have stolen my heart this week. In March, there will be three when Mark's sister has her precious baby girl...but we'll blog about her when we're a little closer!!
For now, I have two upcoming arrivals that I anticipate GREATLY! The first....my sweet sister, Cortni, who is at the hospital as I type tonight, hopefully getting very good rest before a big day tomorrow. At some point tomorrow, I will officially be an aunt for the first time! She is scheduled for an early morning induction, hopefully leading to an easy labor and delivery of Braden Henry Henke. This baby boy is already outgrowing his uteran home, so he will be coming to see us two weeks early, at a hefty weight of almost 9 pounds!! (according to today's sonogram). What is most exciting for me is that I get to be a part of the entire labor process with Cortni and Adam. I am so honored to be able to share this life-changing day with them, and impart what little wisdom I have from my own experience. (We'll see how far that gets her!! I didn't birth any 9 pounder!!!)
So, tonight I am prayerful and anxious for tomorrow to come. To love another child as much as my own, and to watch my sister and brother-in-law become parents for the first time...well, it just makes me absolutely giddy.....
And, of course, to continue my giddiness, is Mia Jing Maulsby. Eight months old, and more beautiful than words can describe, this precious angel is an answered prayer "in the making" for over four years. Chad and Amy became parents this week, and will be home from China as a family of three a week from tomorrow. (Check out their blog for the most adorable pictures you've ever seen....http://www.ourmia.blogspot.com).
So, I wait in great anticipation for these new babies to be home with their mommies and daddies....and look forward to the joy I will have in being a part of their lives as "Aunt Chelsea".

Oh my goodness! PLEASE tell Cortni I'm thinking about her!! I can't wait to see pictures! 2 weeks early and already 9 pounds. Wow. I'll be praying for them today!
And I don't even know the Maulsby's but I was totally shedding tears reading their blog. How amazing is that?
Cortni!! How fun. We'll both have nephews named Braden (only I think Tammie's is spelled Brayden). Being in the labor room will be awesome, I was there with my nephew and it (although gross) was the neatest thing I've ever done. Give Cortni a big hug and tell her we wish her the best! Love you!! Also give Chad and Amy a hug, that makes me cry everytime I think about it...
You are going to be such a great aunt!! I know you cannot wait!! We will pray that all goes well for your sister.
Ditto on everything you said about the Maulsbys. Mia is a precious gift from God and is already loved by so many.
Also I am glad the surgery was a success...another answered prayer.
I am so happy that you get to be an aunt! I've always wanted to be. Glad you get to be the coach to a 9 pounder...wow!! Hope everything goes smoothly! We miss you at SS!!
How special that she would ask you to be there with her! That is such a neat thing for you both! I am so excited for you! And- that she is having a BOY!!! What does Kendyll think? Is she so excited?
